It’s getting hotter and hotter outside. You know what that means? It’s time for some sangria. And good news: you don’t have to make it yourself. Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba Chicago has some of the best sangria in Chicago.

There’s so much fruit in it that I trick myself into thinking that I’m being healthy when I drink it. (And it kinda works)

 

Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba Chicago knows their stuff when it comes to drinking sangria. In fact they have an entire section of their menu dedicated to the beautiful elixir.

I’ve tried all of them, and they are all delicious and refreshing in their own way. If I had to chose one, my favorite is their Black Raspberry Sangria. For some reason this one stuck out to me. The ice cold juice hit my lips and I was in love with the sweet, fruity taste of the black raspberry sangria. We got two pitchers! (lol)

 

Alright alright let’s get into the food. Take a look at the Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba menu and you’ll see Tapas that could very well be famous, and frankly I’m surprised they’re not by now. They’re the most well-known and most popular item on the menu without a doubt, and for a good reason.

 

For that ONE person reading this right now that’s thinking “what the hell is a tapas,” allow me to fill you in. (You should really know what tapas are by now tho, come on…) Tapas are a traditional Spanish appetizer, usually served with drinks. Like these:

 

These are the perfect snack to munch on while sipping on that divine juice disguised as “sangria.” See?

 

 

To conclude: get the tapas and sangria.

 

Moving along to the bigger stuff. Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba has tons of tasty items of their menu. Aside from the 40 different tapas options, they have other dishes like “paella,” which is a traditionally Spanish dish made up of rice, saffron, chicken, served in a massive pan. It usually serves 10-15 people. Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba offers the dish in four different ways: chicken, pork, seafood, and veggie. I recommend the chicken: it’s the most versatile and goes better with all the spices they put in it.

 

Side note: they also have brunch! A popular item is their brunch pintxos, which are just mini bite-sized tapas. My favorite is the deviled egg with crispy jamon serrano. It’s the perfect combination of savory and breakfasty. And it just looks cool:

 

Also try the citrus french toast, or the chocolate banana pancakes, for a sweeter take on breakfast!
