I don’t know about you, but I have a HUGE sweet tooth. I’ll never turn down an invitation to grab ice cream and I often find it hard to walk past a bakery without stopping in. With that being said, I bring to you the top 5 dessert spots in Chicago!

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams - Wicker Park

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream originated in Columbus, Ohio but has made a huge break in Chicago with locations in Wicker Park and Southport. Their ice cream is absolutely delicious and not to mention, a work of art.

The smooth texture and freshness of the ice cream is due to the fact that it’s made with the freshest ingredients and milk from grass-pastured cows. They’re known for their interesting flavor combos such as wildberry lavender or gooey butter cake. My personal favorite is the salty caramel. Jeni's Ice Cream is a must-try for any season!

Sweet Mandy B’s - Lincoln Park

Sweet Mandy B’s is located in Lincoln Park and is the most adorable bakery. They have everything you could ask for in a bakery: cupcakes, brownies, cookies, pie, cake and so much more!

My favorite items there are the confetti cookies and the red velvet cupcake, but if you’re in the mood for something else try their coffee cake or turtle brownies. You honestly can’t go wrong here! If you’re in need of a delicious bakery item, be sure to check out Sweet Mandy B's!

Stan’s Donuts & Coffee - Wicker Park

Stan’s Donuts is a Chicago classic when in need of a phenomenal donut. Stan's has multiple locations including Wicker Park, Lakeview, the The Magnificient Mile, Streetville, and East Roosevelt.

You really can’t go wrong with any option. They have multiple types of donuts like the classic old fashioned, stuffed pocket donuts, and all the classics. I recommend the Lemon Pistachio Old Fashioned or the Nutella Pocket.

Sprinkles Cupcakes - Gold Coast

Sprinkles Cupcakes in the heart of the Gold Coast is known for their iconic cupcake ATM, making your journey to a delicious red velvet cupcake incredibly easy. My favorite is the S’mores Cupcake, but none of their cupcakes will disappoint.

You can always tell how good a place is by the wait to get in, and Sprinkles consistently has a line out the door. Regardless of the wait, take a day out of your weekend to go downtown and experience the cupcakes that people are raving about!

Molly’s Cupcakes - Lincoln  Park

Molly’s Cupcakes in Lincoln Park is another great place to satisfy your sweet tooth!  They have all the classics and they do a fantastic job at making them delicious.  I should probably warn you not to try the center filled Cake Batter, Creme Brûlée, or peanut butter Nutella cupcakes, because you’ll never want to eat anything else again. I’m still thinking about the Nutella cupcake I ate a few weeks back. Yikes.

That caps off my list! Be sure to check these places out next time you’re looking for something to satisfy that sweet tooth.

P.S.- If you overdo it on the sweets don’t blame me! I’m just the messenger :)
