Maafe Rice with Akara and Corn Cakes. Our Vegan Jollof Rice smothered with our Detroit Famous vegan peanut stew...The Maafe. We serve it with Vegan Black Eyed Pea fritters house made alondside corn cakes. Gluten Free and vegetarian. We roll Parmesan cheese into the dough before frying it.

Egusi (also known by variations including agusi, agushi) is the name for the fat- and protein-rich seeds of certain cucurbitaceous plants (squash, melon, gourd), which after being dried and ground are used as a major ingredient in West African cuisine. We cook ours with smoked herring and spinach. It is a great soup for those who like to try something different every once in a while. Ground Egus

Switch it up with our Halal Curry Chicken over vegan Jollof Rice served with a side of sweet and spicy plantain. Very good. Not as spicy as the Jerk but you still get a little heat from the Jollof Rice.
