Don Domingo Vicente Catena, Nicolas Catena Zapata's father, was famous in the 1930's for his deep dark red wine blend. This blend was sold in the French-styled bistros of Buenos Aires - the Paris of South America - as the finest wine from the Mendoza region. This wine, DV Catena Tinto Historico Red Blend, is made in honor of Don Domingo Catena and his legendary abilities as a Master of the Assemblage. The Catena wines are a special assemblage of High Mountain Estate Vineyards made by fourth generation vintner, Laura Catena and chief winemaker, Alejandro Vigil. Although we have found that most of the Catena wines are consumed shortly after release, we are pleased to see that they age beautifully for ten to twenty years.

About the Vineyard
Through decades of study and exploration within Mendoza's high altitude mountain terroirs, the Catena family has identified special locations for its Estate vineyards. Through decades of study and exploration within Mendoza's high altitude mountain terroirs, the Catena family has identified special locations for its Estate vineyards. From the marriage of these historic vineyards emerges a wine of unique character that has natural balance, concentration and a distinct varietal identity.

Tasting Notes
Black fruit and flowers from Uco Valley Malbec laced with spicy Petit Verdot. Malbec lends freshness and smoothness, while Petit Verdot grants volume and persistence, conferring a lush, rich attack and wonderful length to the blend.
Winemaker Notes
The wine comes from the purest grape juice and it alone allows Laurent-Perrier to craft 'La Cuvée', a champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process in our cellars.
Pale gold in color. Fine bubbles feed a persistent mousse. A delicate nose with hints of fresh citrus and white flowers. The wine’s complexity is expressed in successive notes like vine peach and white fruits notes. A perfect balance between freshness and delicacy with fruity flavors very present on the finish.

This fresh and pure wine is perfect for an apéritif. Its citrus and white fruits notes and its remarkable balance supported by a subtle effervescence, make it an ideal accompaniment to poultry and the finest fish.
Released in 1968, Bernard de Nonancourt and Laurent-Perrier have been responsible for the rehabilitation of the rose style and have pioneered the category to become its most respected producer, one which adds an air of glamour to the category.

The grapes are harvested being sorted twice, once in the vineyard and again at the press house. They are added to the presses and gently crushed so the skin of the grapes is in contact with the juice for a short period of time. Champagne is the only appellation in France that can make a rosé by blending still red and white wine together. Laurent-Perrier defies convention and chooses not to.

In the good old days every bottle of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé was pre-sold on allocation, be you Waitrose or The Dorchester and today, still, it is an indulgent champagne that is enjoyed to celebrate exceptional occasions and romantic moments, with its uniquely distinctive bottle and iconic feminine curvaceous lines.
California- Dante Pinot Noir has a brightly perfumed nose with aromas of fresh strawberries, red plum, and candied cherry, with a light cinnamon spiciness. In the mouth, the wine is soft and pliable, with flavors of rich milk chocolate, strawberry cobbler and fresh vanilla bean.
"Caliza" means limestone in Spanish, used in naming this wine so as to pay homage to the unique soil profile at this Dominio de Valdepusa estate. The moderate layer of clay topsoil over rocky limestone leads to elegantly structured wines. Caliza is a blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot which are fermented in stainless steel followed by one year in new and second passage French oak. Tasting Notes Deep purple in color with ruby reflections, this wine shows alluring notes of blackberries and cassis with undertones of cinnamon and minerality. On the palate, it is beautifully full-bodied and silky with refreshing acidity and flavors that unfold into the long-lasting finish. Food Pairing Pair this wine with Spanish-style sirloin, prime rib, rich terrines, or pisto manchego.
Zardetto created a special Cuvée with a blend of Glera, for long-lasting, expressive citrus notes, Chardonnay, for rich body and creamy texture, and Muscat, for fresh floral and grapey aromas. This fine Cuvée manages to be both playful and refined at the same time—sure to please even the most discerning palates.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant straw-yellow in color with a delicate perlage, this sparkler expresses notes of pears, apples and peaches with a hint of wild flowers.

Food Pairing
Pairs perfectly with grilled fish, smoked trout, grilled vegetables, vegetarian salads and Asian cuisines, such as spring rolls or chicken satay.
Alanera translates as "black wing," a reference to the raven, "corvo" in Italian, and an homage to the Valpolicella region's treasured indigenous grape, "Corvina". Alanera is a seductive wine that derives extra richness from an innovative variation on the traditional appassimento method practiced throughout the zone. 50% of all the grapes harvested to produce this wine are partially dried for 45-60 days. The classic Valpolicella varietals are dried in the main drying facility in Sant' Ambrogio where the Zenato family dry their Amarone grapes, while the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are dried at Zenato's Santa Cristina winery. The highly concentrated juice from these partially dried grapes adds an unusually complex spectrum of aromas and flavors to the blend. 12 months in barrel round out the tannin structure in this eminently drinkable red.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby in color, Alanera delights the senses with a variety of aromas and flavors that include fresh and dried cherries and prunes, sweet spice, and hints of coffee and tobacco. On the palate, Alanera is full-bodied with elegant and velvety tannins. Vibrant acidity brings balance and freshness, and supports a long and harmonious finish.

Food Pairing
Pair Zenato's Alanera with medium-aged cheeses, cured meats, meaty fish such as sea bass fillet with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, or with braised meats and stews.

A joint venture between Adrianna Catena, daughter of Nicolas Catena, and Alejandro Vigil, Chief Winemaker at Bodega Catena Zapata, El Enemigo Malbec is produced at Piedemonte al Sur, located in the southern foothills of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. The facility is named for the unique aspect of Mendoza's high altitude winemaking region nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.

Tasting Notes
Rich and concentrated, it offers aromas of black fruit, cherry and dark berryfruit on the nose followed in the palate by a full-bodied wine with flavors of spice, blackberry, black cherry, pepper and a slight floral character. The finish is elegant and lengthy.
Deep purple color with bluish reflections. Intense aromas of red and black fruit and cassis, raisins, dried figs and blueberry jam. The aging in French oak brings notes of snuff and chocolate. Soft and silky entrance, large structure with sweet and firm tannins. Long finish.

JS93 James Suckling
Very fresh and floral on the nose with graphite and carbon to the blackberry character. Full-bodied, firm and silky with a creamy and compact texture. Racy.

W&S92 Wine & Spirits
Sebastián Zuccardi blends this wine from vineyards in Paraje Altamira and Vista Flores, both regions high up in the Uco Valley. Fermented with ambient yeasts and aged in a mix of concrete tanks and oak barrels, it blends the herbal brightness of high-altitude fruit with the rich, spicy warmth of riper fruit. It feels polished, elegant enough for a white-tablecloth dinner and brisk enough to enjoy a glass before dinner.

RP92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There is a sense of purity in the 2018 Q Malbec that seems common to the whole portfolio here—wines that show precision, are clean and show no excess in any direction: ripeness, extraction or oak. It comes from Altamira and Chacayes, where 2018 was very balanced, and this is an exercise of blending over 100 components, as they ferment by soil even within the same vineyard. They fermented with different amounts of full clusters depending on the plot, perhaps 30% on average, and they fermented in concrete and with only 30% of the wine matured in used barriques. It's floral, expressive and perfumed, with a medium-bodied palate where the tannins are fine and there's some grip. The wine is serious but easy to drink. They want the wine to have a similar style to the top range: freshness, purity, cleanliness and texture that says it's from the Valle de Uco.

Catena Malbec is sourced and blended from the family´s high-altitude vineyards in Maipú, Lujan de Cuyo, Tupungato and San Carlos. Each vineyard is specifically farmed in preparation for its role in the final blend. 80-year-old vines in Lunlunta (Maipù) Vineyard lend soft, sweet texture and the lauded Catena cuttings in Agrelo (Luján de Cuyo) Vineyard add notes of spice. The cold nights in Altamira (San Carlos) Vineyard lend bright, crisp acidity and the intense sunshine in Gualtallary (Tupungato) Vineyard give explosive floral aromatics and concentrated structure. This combination of different vineyard components results in a wine with heightened complexities and unique character that has natural balance, concentration and a distinct varietal identity.

Tasting Notes
The Catena Malbec 2018 presents a deep violet color with purple reflections. This microclimate blend of four unique vineyards offers intense aroma, soft texture and concentrated flavor. Deep aromas of ripe red and dark fruits are joined by delicate violet and lavender notes, with traces of vanilla and mocha. A rich, concentrated mouthfeel is highlighted by flavors of blueberries and blackberries with a touch of leather and cinnamon. The wine has well-integrated tannins, bright acidity and a flinty minerality that provides exceptional length to the finish.

Food Pairing
Pair with roast turkey, grilled steak, salmon, and pasta with red sauce.
For over four generations, the Catena family has grown vines in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina. Laura Catena, great-granddaughter of winery founder Nicola Catena, has created a richly textured Chardonnay blend with floral notes, ripe tropical-fruit flavors, a strong mineral character and excellent acidity. Catena Chardonnay is sourced from three of the family´s vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and Tupungato. In Agrelo, in Luján de Cuyo, the La Pirámide Vineyard grapes lend the wine ripe citrus and stone fruit aromas and flavors. Fruit from the Domingo Vineyard in the Villa Bastías district of Tupungato emphasizes those stone fruit flavors and gives the wine its rich texture and mouthfeel. The high-altitude Adrianna Vineyard in the Gualtallary district of Tupungato produces grapes with lively floral notes, a pronounced minerality, and a crisp, cool-climate acidity. From the marriage of these historic parcels emerges a wine of a unique character that has natural balance, concentration, and a distinct varietal identity.

Tasting Notes
The Catena Chardonnay combines the unique expressions of three high altitude vineyard sites. The wine shows an intense greenish color with yellow notes. The extraordinary combination of these vineyards offer honey and tropical fruit flavors while lending notes of citrus, pears, peaches, and white flowers with a strong minerality and a delicated note of vanilla. The mouthfeel is clean, with a fresh, clean acidity.

Food Pairing
This wine would be a fantastic companion a variety of poultry dishes, dishes finished with a Nantua sauce, or to a rich seafood dish like Shrimp and Herb Risotto.
Winemaker Notes
2017 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon captures the spirit of the 2017 vintage with dazzling finesse of flavor and stunning balance. Muddled ripe strawberries and boysenberries compel the nose to complex tones of creamy red cassis, spice box, and delicate herbs de Provence. Red fruit tones delight the palate, rising and falling with amplitude and grace to a brilliant finish that leaves the brain tingling and heart yearning for the next sip.
Blend: 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS
The autumn and winter were very dry being the average rainfalls 60% less compared to a normal year. The warm temperatures at the end of winter and the beginning of spring led to an early bud break of the vines.

At the end of April and beginning of May polar winds brought frosts in North Spain resulting in an important loss. Fortunately, August late’s rains were very beneficial and plants reached ful ripeness.

We began picking on the 19th September.

We were very satisfied with the quality and the healthy state of the grapes as they went into our winery.

GRAPE ORIGIN
100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) primarily very old vines – 40 to 80 years old- from seven different villages in the province of Burgos, plus younger grapes from our own vineyards in two villages in the province of Valladolid. The harvest was done by hand, in small boxes of 15 kilos and thoroughly inspected, bunch by bunch, on the selection table.

TASTING NOTES
Deep purple red colour. On the nose notes of cherry and raspberry with subtle aromas of spice and well integrated wood emerge. The palate is fresh with high density and volume. The typical flavours of the Tempranillo are all present — liquorice, roasted coffee and fresh tobacco. This wine is smooth and could be drunk from the first moment because of its roundness, balanced tannins and good acidity. AALTO 2017 will gain complexity over the years.

AVERAGE OAK AGEING
Aged for 16 months in 50% new barrels of French and American oak.

Luigi Bosca Gala 2 is a blend of a deep purple red color of good intensity.
In the nose it expresses an aromatic variety of black fruits and olives, and
caramel, pepper, bell pepper notes. In the mouth it is well-structured, with
spicy and ripe flavors and an ample palate, great texture and strength. It
has a long-lasting, tasty finish, complex in flavors.

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 85%, Cabernet Franc 10%, Merlot 5%.

Winemaking: The three varieties are vinified separately exactly the same
way. The grapes are hand-picked in boxes from 18 to 20 kilograms, clusters
are then sorted and destemmed for further grain selection. The must is cold
macerated for 5 to 7 days at a temperature from 10°C to 15°C. Then it is
fermented with selected yeast in stainless steel tanks of 15,000 liter capacity,
with delestages and pressings. Once fermentation is finished, only the
Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in oak barrels where malolactic fermentation
occurs and it is then matured for 14 months. Once the ageing finishes, the
final blend is done and then wine is stabilized, filtered and bottled. It is
stored at the winery for at least a year before market release.
Ageing in barrels:The Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
Winemaker: Pablo Cúneo / Vicente Garzia.

Climate: Continental climate, with a wide range of temperature between
day and night, and well-defined seasons which contribute to a good growth
of the vines. The altitude and its microclimate are ideal for the grapes since
they provide a unique character. Many hours of good sunlight.

Soil and vine: This red wine is a blend from two vineyards located in Luján
de Cuyo, with outstanding health and phytosanitary conditions. The soils
are sandy-loam, with stones from varying size, poor organic matter and
very good drainage.
Luigi Bosca · Malbec D.O.C. is one of the first Argentine wines with a
Designation of Origin. A deep and bright red violet wine with balanced
aromas and red fruit and spice notes. It is refreshing and voluptuous in
the mouth, with fine and gentle tannins, while it is clean and expressive
in the palate, with a strong character, typicity and a deep finish with soft
smoked hues as a result of its ageing in oak barrels. It is a great exponent
of the variety and the terroir, with good ageing potential.

TECHNICAL SHEET
Variety: Malbec 100%.
Winemaking: The grapes are hand-picked, clusters are selected, then
they are destemmed and after that the best grains are chosen. The must is
macerated in cold for 3 to 5 days at a temperature from 10°C to 15°C. Then
it is fermented with selected yeast in small stainless steel tanks, with
extraction works such as delestage and pressings. Once fermentation is
finished, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels in which malolactic
conversion takes place and it is matured for 12 to 14 months. Once the
ageing is finished, the wine is stabilized, filtered and bottled. It is stored
in the winery for at least 6 months before market release.
Ageing in barrels: It is aged in new French oak barrels for 12 to 14 months.
Winemaker: Pablo Cúneo.
Comments by the winemaker: Luigi Bosca is the pioneer winery in elaborating a Malbec under the Denomination of Origin Luján de Cuyo. This
is the reason why it is a wine which seeks the ultimate expression of the
terroir by harvesting its grape in its right level of ripeness and looking
after every detail of the making. The climate during the 2016 harvest was
cool to cold throughout the plant’s growth and the grapes’ ripeness cycle.
For that reason, fresh aromas of red fruits such as plums, floral and spicy
notes can be perceived in Luigi Bosca · Malbec D.O.C. 2016. It is fresh and
lively in the mouth, with sweet tannins and a persistent finish.

Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc - Marlborough, New Zealand

The natural beauty of the Nautilus shell has inspired our expressive, balanced, precisely crafted wines since 1985, the early days of Marlborough winegrowing. Back then there were only 80 NZ wineries. Today there are nearly 700. Yet we remain small, family-owned, and committed to the stunningly beautiful Marlborough region.

About the Vineyard
Nautilus Sauvignon is sourced from free-draining stony soils, giving low cropping, low vigour, early ripening vines, great flavour development every year and serious, age-worthy wines. A blend of sites adds layers of complexity.

Wine Production
Grapes were machine-harvested at night then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to give fresh aromas. Some of the fermentations were started with non-saccharomyces yeasts for texture and complexity, with the remainder using aromatic yeasts giving aromatic intensity. The wine was kept on lees for five months providing creaminess and integrated flavours.

Tasting Notes
Nautilus Estate produces serious Sauvignon Blanc, with site selection offering complex and age-worthy wines. Low yields give intense flavors and palate length, and lees-aging contributes creamy palate weight.

Food Pairing
The high acidity and fresh flavors pair well with a wide range of seafood and vegetarian dishes. The flavor intensity can stand up to some chilli and the herb notes in the wine compliment Thai ingredients such as basil or lemongrass.
Cabernet Sauvignon: 30 year old vines grown in the loamy – clay soils of Agrelo (Luján de Cuyo) provide the cassis core; Cooler temperatures of higher altitude Villa Bastías (Tupungato) lend sweet spice and eucalyptus; extreme high altitude climate of Gualtallary (Tupungato) provides structure and spicy black pepper.

About the Vineyard
The Catena wines are a special assemblage of high-altitude estate vineyards made by fourth generation vintner, Laura Catena and chief winemaker, Alejandro Vigil. From decades of study and exploration within Mendoza's high-altitude mountain terroirs, the Catena family has identified special locations for its estate vineyards. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of four vineyards. Each vineyard is divided into lots, which are harvested at different times. From the La Pirámide Vineyard in the Agrelo district of Luján de Cuyo come grapes with classic aromas and flavors of black currant and cassis with ripe, sweet tannins. The Domingo Vineyard in the Villa Bastías district of Tupungato contributes grapes with spicy aromatics and peppery notes on the palate. The grapes grown in the Nicasia Vineyard located in Altamira in the La Consulta district of San Carlos provide finely grained and sweet tannins to the wine. And the very high-altitude Adrianna Vineyard in the Gualtallary district of Tupungato produces grapes with notes of eucalyptus, a pronounced minerality, and firm tannins.

Tasting Notes
Catena Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dark ruby color with violet tones. This Carmenere is an expression of the terroir. The wine is the result of a selection of the vineyards best plots, planted with 25 year-old vines that yield 6-7 ton/ha. It was aged in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks for 12 months.

About the Vineyard
The grapes come from Maule Valley, near the town of San Clemente, close to the foothills of the Andes Mountain Range. The vines are grown over clay soils of volcanic origin and some colluvial formations over a stony bed in decomposition.

Wine Production
The grapes were picked by hand the 2nd week of April and then taken to the winery where they were destemmed and placed in stainless steel tanks for a cold maceration of 4 to 5 days. The alcoholic fermentation took place between 25ºC and 26ºC during 8 to 12 days using soft extraction. Once completed, the wine underwent a post-fermentative maceration of one or two weeks. It was then placed in French oak barrels for aging, where it also made the malolactic fermentation.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a purple-red color with bluish shadings. Highly complex on the nose, it stands out for its ripe black fruits, spicy notes and soft touches of bitter chocolate. It feels concentrated on the palate, with sweet and round tannins, a balanced acidity tension and a touch of chocolate in its ending, which comes from its aging process in French oak barrels.

Food Pairing
This wine is especially pleasant when paired with thick ribs, risotto or spicy food.

Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino is made from a meticulous vine selection in the best lots of the Catena family’s estate vineyards. These Zapata vines are carefully hand tended and produce extremely low yields. The grapes are micro-fermented in new French oak barriques and the wine is then aged for 24 months in new French oak. This wine is made in very limited quantities.

Tasting Notes
The Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino shows a saturated dark violet color with ruby reflections; the nose offers cassis, blueberries and violets, along with a strong suggestion of soil tones. It combines density and sweetness on the one hand, with gripping, lightly saline flavors of mocha, dark berries, spice, and minerals; a palate-staining finish dominated by sweet black and blue fruits.

Food Pairing
Pairs well with lamb chops, beef tenderloin, and goat cheese.
The Catena family’s vision has been to uncover those magical places in each of the family’s vineyards that offer the purest expression of the land. Farming these special lots manually, hand-tending each of the vines, has led to the identification of individual plants which consistently produce the most exceptional fruit. These Zapata vines have been physically marked with a red sash, ensuring the most demanding attention to detail in their care. Harvested separately in multiple passes through the vineyard, the grapes are then loaded by hand into French oak barrels for a long, cool fermentation with cap management being done by hand. Over 200 separate micro-fermentations are done, separated by different lots and harvest times. The inaugural 1997 vintage of this Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec blend set a new standard of quality for wines from South America when it won a series of blind tasting against First Growth Bordeaux and other prestigious cuvées from around the world. Tasting Notes Nicolás Catena Zapata has an intense, deep purple color with bluish-black tones. On the nose, aromas of black fruits – blackberries, black cherries, black plums – predominate with subtle notes of vanilla and dark chocolate intermingled with savory hints of green olive and a stony minerality. On the palate, the wine is tremendously complex, unfolding layer upon layer of red currant, eucalyptus, and black pepper flavors. Black cherries and blackberries give way to cassis followed by a hint of saline minerality. The wine is remarkably concentrated with a firm tannic structure providing the backbone for the lush fruit. The finish is long, a foretoken of the long aging potential of this Argentine masterpiece. Food Pairing Let the Nicolás Catena Zapata open in a decanter while you grill a Bone-in Ribeye Steak to perfection. Pour yourself a glass. Bliss.

To create our signature varietal, we start with fully ripe Pinot Grigio grapes, harvested from our Alto Adige vineyard in the Italian Alps by hand to ensure that the clusters remain whole and retain their delicate aromas and flavors. The grapes are soft-crushed, then carefully fermented in temperature-controlled tanks. Several additional weeks of aging are then used to fully develop the flavor that made Pinot Grigio famous. Then it’s filtered, bottled and made ready for the most important stop on its journey: the gatherings and glasses of wine lovers like you.

However, the unusual rainfall during the second half of October enabled us to accumulate an optimal level of water in the soil to ensure sufficient availability for our vineyards. The spring was frost free, which allowed for optimal bud break, foliage development, and flowering.
There was no significant rainfall during the summer, which began cool, especially in January. February, however, was one of the hottest in recent years. Temperatures dropped in March, which slowed ripening by approximately 2 weeks. The weather conditions remained favorable until April, which included 2 significant episodes of rain in 5 days. Up to 180 mm fell in the Central Valley, which had a great impact on the wine industry and farming in general.
Our largest vineyard, El Arcángel de Marchigüe, however, is near the coast and therefore registered 60% less rain than the Central Valley, which enabled the harvests to take place as planned. We had to be very attentive and eagerly taste berries in the field to be able to harvest logically without risking quality.

VINEYARDS
The vineyards where we produce the grapes for our Purple Angel are located in the Marchigüe and Apalta sectors of the Colchagua Valley. Here, the soils are of granitic origin and vary in their clay content, amount of organic matter, depth, and especially in their types of fluvial and glacial stones, reflecting the tremendous diversity of soils in our vineyards.
Apalta has heterogeneous soils, zones that are highly influenced by the Tinguiririca River and other sectors that are the product of floods and the detachment of material from high above in the mountains. Soil tend to be deep on the plain and shallower at the foot of the mountain and upper areas. The Carmenère vineyards are preferably planted in flat zones, where the soil is deeper and has moderate moisture retention.
Marchigüe is flatter and has lower hills with moderate slopes. Its soils are shallow—in some cases no more than 60 cm—with medium clay content and a high capacity for water retention.
The vineyards are located in the flatter zones and are planted at a density of 5,555 plants/hectare (2,250/acre) and are double guyot trained for a yield of approximately 3.5–4.0 tons/hectare (1.4–1.6 tons/acre). The leaves closest to the fruit were vigorously pulled in early January to leave the grapes completely exposed, which allowed us to achieve even ripening, and more importantly, to reduce the amount of pyrazines
